Rob Winters

Rob Winters/Designer

I'm Rob, a product designer with almost 30 years of experience building digital products and leading high-performing, user-centred design teams. Together with some amazing individuals, I've built products that have been used and loved by millions of people.

I was the founding designer and Head of Design at Hailo, a taxi app that started in London in 2011 and by 2015 was operating in 16 cities worldwide. In 2016, I started as Head of Design at Trainline, where I grew the design team from three to twenty-three and oversaw a successful rebrand, European expansion, and IPO.

In 2019, I took time off to write some books. Then, when it turned out I wasn't the next J.K. Rowling, I joined Hedgehog (later acquired by Inveniam), where I'm now helping with their mission to enable the systematic trading of private market assets.

In my downtime, between family life and writing, I’ve been exploring AI-assisted development and have shipped two swiftUI applications to the App Store. It’s an exciting time to be a designer and maker. When anyone can create, judgement, craft, and taste become even more valuable.
